About GT Automotive
Designed to earn your trust in our complete auto repairs, GT Automotive was founded on November 1, 1980. Originally located in a small 2 bay shop on the corner of 5300 South State Street, we quickly outgrew that building and moved several times in the Murray/Midvale area. In January 2004, we made plans for a new shop in South Jordan and put the old place up for sale. We then began the process of procuring financing and building permits, and in April 2005, we opened the new shop for business. Our Mission: To build relationships and provide an outstanding experience for our customers while maintaining the highest standards for honesty and integrity.

Auto Repair FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Japanese Luxury Vehicle Service and Repair.
Do you only repair Japanese vehicles?
No. While we specialize in Japanese, luxury, and imported vehicles, we service a wide range of makes and models including Ford, Chevrolet, and other domestic brands.
What if I cannot stay for the duration of the repair?
We offer concierge drop-off options and loaner vehicles for qualifying services so you can keep your day moving while your vehicle is being serviced.
What is included in a certified vehicle inspection?
Our certified vehicle inspections include a comprehensive evaluation of safety, mechanical, and performance-related systems. We inspect critical components such as brakes, suspension, steering, tires, fluids, cooling systems, and visible leaks, and provide clear recommendations based on condition and manufacturer guidelines.
What should I do if my check engine light turns on but the car still drives fine?
Many warning lights indicate early-stage issues that can worsen over time. We recommend diagnostic testing to determine severity before minor problems become expensive repairs.
What if something goes wrong after the repair?
All of our repairs are backed by a warranty, so if an issue related to our work arises, we will address it promptly and responsibly.
How does Utah’s winter weather affect vehicle maintenance?
Cold temperatures can impact batteries, fluids, brakes, and cooling systems. Seasonal inspections help prevent no-start issues, reduced braking performance, and overheating once temperatures fluctuate.
How does stop-and-go traffic along I-15 affect my vehicle?
Frequent braking and idling can accelerate wear on brakes, transmissions, and cooling systems. Routine inspections help identify early wear caused by daily commuter traffic.
Do you offer factory scheduled maintenance?
Yes. We follow manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedules to protect warranties, performance, and long-term reliability.
